Rete Eliportuale Pugliese

Apulian Heliport Network has been built and now is managed by Alidaunia within the framework of a specific contract awarded by Aeroporti di Puglia.

Such network responds to the demand for a system of helicopter landing points, operating 24/7, strategically distributed on the regional territory and, above all, managed jointly in order to integrate with the airports. It still constitutes the only example in Italy of integrated management of a regional airport/ heliport system.

The project provides the strategic coverage of the whole Apulian territory, through the heliport network integrated to the airport network, for an optimal operational employment of the helicopters H24 for the pointed out demands of:

  • Increased needs for transportation
  • HEMS
  • Civil protection

As it is clear from the map reproduced below, the heliport network has been conceived to cover the most inaccessible and impracticable areas of the region.
Each heliport is furnished with any necessary safety and security equipment: antitheft devices, firefighting and check-in for passengers and baggage (where required), as well as other services like handling, refuelling (Jet A1 - where required).

All the helipads are remotely controlled and managed from the operational control centre, located at the main office in Foggia, which assures the continuous monitoring of the network, along with all facilities and related services
